Bassey is a graduate of the University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, where he earned his degree in Law (LLB) with honors in 2005. He was thereafter admitted as a solicitor and advocate of the supreme court of Nigeria in November 2006; having earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Nigerian Law School in September 2006.
Bassey is a member of the chartered institute of arbitrators U.K, a member of the International Bar Association, and a member of the of the International Bar Association Human Rights Institute.His areas of expertise include aviation law, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), family law, labour law, commercial law, civil litigation, property law and conveyance.
